SALLEY, SC –Mrs. Loraine Williams Adams, 85, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, October 5, 2010.
Mrs. Adams was born in Aiken County, the daughter of the late Robert Jackson and Madeline Cooke Williams. She was also preceded in death by her step father Fred B. Williams (affectionately known as Uncle Fred), brothers J.C., Bill, T.R., and Howard Williams, and sister Bonnell Gantt. Mrs. Adams was a member of Rocky Grove Baptist Church. She was also an accomplished seamstress and an avid vegetable and flower gardener.
Mrs. Adams is survived by her husband of 67 years, W.L. “Junior” Adams, Jr., children Dwight (Janie) Adams of Mountain Rest, SC, Lynn (Woody) Kitchings of Seymour, TN, Cynthia (Robert) Smith of Evans and Teresa Adams of Augusta, grandchildren; Paula (Gary) Withrow, Christy (Clay) Plunkett, Kevin (Kim) Kitchings, Karen (Billy) Chandler, Ashley (Bradley) Cox, and Elizabeth Smith, great-grandchildren, Alyssa Withrow, Christopher Smith, Todd Fink, Jason Chandler, Logan Cox, and Mackenzie Cox, great-great-grandchild Kadence Smith, and sisters Mary Nettie (Tom) Brown of Wagener and Madelyn Hutto of Callahan , FL.
Visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Blizzard Funeral Home, 153 Main St. South, Wagener, SC (803) 564-5333. The Funeral Service will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. in the Rocky Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. John O’Cain officiating. Mrs. Adams will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service for viewing. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
